Heading to Clitheroe

I am getting ready to go to The Platform Gallery in Clitheroe to see how they have hung my ‘Found in the Fields’ show. I will give a slide talk and walk round on Saturday afternoon. Having only ever seen Pendle Hill from a distance, so i am  looking forward to seeing the witch-haven close-up and a part of the country not visited before.

Kingcombe Meadows

A delightful few days as part of a Society of Wildlife Artists and Dorset Wildlife Trust project at Kingcombe Meadows reserve, near Dorchester. Really full of delights – flowering pastures and meadows with a complexity and density and diversity to wonder at. Flowers that have been eradicated from my parish over the last 30 years still doing well here.

new postcard

There is a new postcard of “Big Turns and Little Terns” on my website, and a reprint postcard of “Swans return to The Loch”, which hasn’t been around for a while.

Dolby Gallery show in Oundle

screen-shot-2017-03-05-at-09-09-12Enjoyed my private View at the Dolby gallery in Oundle Northamptonshire on Friday.

What a lovely bunch of people.

It’s a really mixed show of paintings, prints, landscapes, colour-playing, and illustrations, hung together well by Polly Dolby.

Show continues till 25th March

Our Woods project in Corby

Our Woods is a 6 month project of events based in the wonderful woodlands in Corby. The ‘new town’ was built around them, and this project is to raise awareness and appreciation of them. Some splendid events- like tree climbing for grown ups. i took a group for a day of observation drawing in KingsWood using a variety of materials. In contrast a bit later i led a night walk after which we did recalling from visual memory.
